This Outdoor Wednesday we are in Italy on the Isle of Capri!
Driving up the hill to get to a shopping tour and lunch.
Yikes those bus drivers are good!
Those are narrow streets and some jutted off the cliff.
Hubby had just talked me into going up this chair lift.
The people running it said your feet only are off the ground 10 feet at the most...
Yeah, ok then... I'll try it. Yikes!
Going up and up and up...
Over peoples private backyards!
As high up as we are...
technically me feet are still only about 10 feet off the ground.
My bravery was rewarded with a spectacular view!
At the top we got off to walk around.
The view from up there was priceless!
I found this fabulous old cracked pot.
Going back down wasn't too bad...
until the wind picked up!
It really was a fantastic little ride!

Thank you for visiting

Wow..., the views are fabulous..., the road does look a bit scary. And the chair lifts so remind me of Switzerland (where I grew up).
ReplyDeleteRainey, you are far braver than I, but look how you were rewarded! Ten feet off the ground is ten feet off the ground! LOL! But that view of the water was, indeed, breathtaking. What was it like sailing over people's backyards??? That would have been fun to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us on the chairlift. I never would have gone otherwise! ;-)
Happy OW...
XO,
Sheila :-)
That drive around the cliffs would scare the heck out of me. But worth it for a shopping trip.
ReplyDeleteMy Outdoor Wednesday is flowers with a 'passion'. Come over if you can find time. I'd love your company today.
And, hope the day treats you well!!!
Beautiful photos brave girl...that road was "interesting"!!!
ReplyDeleteHeights scare me...big time...but I am glad you had fun.
ReplyDeleteThat road really scares me...even more than the chair ride.
Have a happy day!

Woo hoo, that looks like fun! The reward at the top — breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteI'll just bet your having some memorable meals on the Isle of Capri, I remember many, many years ago reading an article on the cuisine in either Bon Appetit or Cuisine Magazine and dreaming of going. Have fun!
Fantastic Outdoor Wednesday!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a glorious sight from up there! As I looked at the fifth photo, I thought I was looking at an underwater scene and it turned out they weren't fish but boats in the sea so far below you - amazing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and I love the shot of the ancient-looking pot with the sea behind it.

What beautiful scenery from on high. I cannot take height, but I enjoyed seeing all the beauty through your eyes.
ReplyDeleteThe view is beautiful, but don't know that I could have gone up there. I have issues with height.
ReplyDeleteGlenda
Fabulous views! I don't like heights..you are brave!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place... scary heights!
ReplyDeleteGIRL! You are so brave! I don't know if I could've done it. The shot looking down from the top - oh UGH!
ReplyDeleteGOOD FOR YOU!!!!!
You are one brave soul. Great photos.

I love Capri!!! I can't believe that road you drove on. We were there for one day, arrived by boat and took the funicular up the hill. I loved it so much, my whole family wants to go back! Maybe someday.
ReplyDeleteI used to ski so the chair lifts wouldn't have bothered me but Oh My that first photo of the road!!!!! I don't know about that!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. Have a great day!
